The World Cup Finals: Import vs. Domestic is an annual drag racing event that takes place at Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland. Known as one of the most prestigious and competitive events in drag racing, it draws racers and nearly 60,000 fans from all over the world. The event typically spans five days, featuring over 350 racers from more than ten countries competing for a share of $200,000 in prizes.
The 27th edition of the 2023 Haltech World Cup Finals Import vs. Domestic, presented by Wiseco, kicked off on November 1, 2023, and roared through to the late hours of November 5, 2023, at the Maryland International Raceway. Notable highlights from the event included Garrett Mitchell, famously known as Cleetus McFarland, who claimed victory in his “Leroy” Wiseco powered stick shift Corvette, running a 7.078 at 202 mph. The Outlaw vs Extreme class featured a collection of the fastest cars on the property including the “Blackberry Rocket” driven by Mark Benston Jr, who won the class overall while breaking the Outlaw Drag Radial ET world record four times during the weekend.
